SUMMARY:Klondike Derby
DESCRIPTION:Sled Race / Scouts will run the mapped-out racecourse. This is a timed event. The time starts when thepatrol leader is told to start and ends when the patrol crosses the finish line. \n\n\n\nPaul Bunyan / Saw a log\, light a match with an ax\, wood tools safety\, tomahawk & throwing knife throw. \n\n\n\nShelter Building / Build a two person shelter out of natural materials. Twine for lashing will be the only man-made material you can use. Where is the door? Can the shelter be found? \n\n\n\nFire Building Challenge / Start a fire without matches or lighters. You can use homemade fire starters made with wax\,sawdust\, cardboard\, or dryer lint. NO Chemical fire starters. With your fire you will\, burn a string\, or boil a pot of water\, or cook something. Stations choice. Did you follow the fire safety rules? You will lose points for using matches. \n\n\n\nTeam Challenge / Work together as a team (patrol). The better you work as a team the more points you will earn. \n\n\n\nScouting Trail (20+ Questions) / A trail through camp\, with the questions posted along the way. Camp Shenandoah 75th anniversary theme. Brush up on your camp and council history. \n\n\n\nFirst Aid / Winter Emergencies\, did they survive with your help?
