Two Troop 111 Leaders Earn the Highest Honors

The Virginia Headwaters Council announced that our very own Melissa and Reid Watts have each been awarded the council’s Silver Beaver award, the highest awards the council can give to adult Scouters. These two awards are given for their decade of service to Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, the annual Apple Harvest camporee, and BSA’s premier adult training program, Wood Badge. Reid currently serves as our Scoutmaster and Melissa as an Assistant Scoutmaster, but their service goes far beyond that – they lead from the front for every evolution the troop conducts, including our monthly camping trips, summer camp, service projects for the church, and Eagle projects for each of our aspiring older Scouts. The first to arrive and the last to leave for each week’s meeting, they have been pillars of service for many years across the district and council. They will be celebrated at the Virginia Headwater Council’s annual honors dinner on February 24, 2024.
