  • Memorial to the Gettysburg Address in the National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

    We camped on Daniel Lady Farm, which served as General Edward Johnson’s headquarters and a confederate field hospital during the battle of Gettysburg. We enjoyed the museum and hiking the battlefield. The scouts completed the Lincoln portion of the Gettysburg Heritage Trail program.

  • Canoes on the Shenandoah River in Virginia

    August 2023 | Shenandoah River

    Set up camp along the river Friday night. Saturday morning be transported up stream, and then spend all of Saturday paddling and floating your way back to your campsite, stopping midway for a swim and a picnic lunch.

  • A foggy morning at the campsite on Santos Farm

    After rain canceled the troop’s annual trip to the Marble Yard, they quickly shifted gears and headed to Santos Farm. Nestled along a river bank in the Shenandoah National Forest the scouts enjoyed fishing, hiking, service, and fellowship.

    The thrilling feeling of testing your survival skills while being chased by zombies! Troop 111 welcomed three new scouts with this annual exciting themed campout. Competing in patrols they learned first aid, fire and axe safety, and shelter building.
